Ricardo Lucas, your Business Games professor sent me this article, about «Wine by One» a business innovation consisting in summing up three concepts: a Wine Bar, a Wine  store and a Wine club.

WINE by ONE opened in May 2010 near Place Vendôme, a sophisticated neighborhood in Paris near the Louvre: customers can taste wines from over 100 different bottles, coming from several countries, through Enomatic machines that pour the wine at the push of a button.

Each machine holds between six and eight bottles and dispenses wine tastings in three different sizes — «the impression» (3 cl), «the temptation» (half glass), and «the sensation» (full glass).

Customers add money to a personalized WINEcard from which the price of each glass is deducted automatically. Servings cost between €1.20 and €25.00, depending on the size and the wine. The machines prevent oxidation, ensuring a constant, ready-to-serve temperature and maintaining drinkability for up to three weeks.

Franchising is one of the business model possibility for this enterprise expansion, both in France and eventually abroad, representing one more adventure of the so called «wine by the class» trend which will expand in Spain for sure in the close future.
